Recycling household waste
Please read this, as it concerns us all!
The different type of containers for various types of waste have now been in use for some time . Unfortunately because of people not following the guidelines the volume of household waste that is rejected by the sorting stations is actually going up. This means that the cost of processing household waste will go up…and we all end up paying for it.
The figures below illustrate the percentage of "mis-placed" rubbish :
Percentage of rubbish than cannot be processed in the Ribéracois (bad sorting) 2003
10,88 % / 2004
11,54% / 2005
12,57%
To put it in terms of volume it represents a staggering 96 tonnes in 2004 and 115 tonnes in 2005.
So, please make sure you know how to dispose of your rubbish correctly.
If you own a gîte, please make sure that your tenants are also aware of these regulations: the Mairie has refuse bags and notices in English and German, so if you need them, please go and collect what you need. Thank you!
